Dr. Rehan Ahmed

Dr. Rehan Ahmed is an experienced ophthalmologist with more than 15 years of expertise in comprehensive eye care. Dr. Ahmed was born in Chicago and grew up in central Illinois where he was the valedictorian of his high school class. As a senior in high school, he received early admission to medical school and a full merit scholarship.

Dr. Ahmed earned his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed his internship at the University of Texas, followed by a residency in ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

Dr. Ahmed is skilled in both medical and surgical treatments for eye diseases. He is dedicated to treating each patient with compassion, offering personalized and engaging care to guide them from routine eye concerns to more complex surgical interventions.

Dr. Ahmed loves bringing technology to eye care and advises multiple companies in eye care. He is also an active member of several professional societies where he serves as a member of both the AI in Medicine Committee and Member Experience Committee at the Texas Medical Association. He has published articles and book chapters and routinely gives talks throughout the country.

Believing in the importance of education, Dr. Ahmed also is a volunteer adjunct professor at UT-Southwestern Medical School Department of Ophthalmology.

In his free time, Dr. Ahmed enjoys pickleball, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with his wife and three young children.
